  3. Steps to Reading a Recipe • Step 1: Read your list of ingredients. • Make sure you have all of the items available before you start. You don’t want to get half-way through the recipe and find you are missing a key ingredient!

  4. Steps to reading a recipe • Step 2: Finish reading the whole recipe so you are aware of all of the steps involved. • Pay attention to the time and equipment needed to complete the recipe.

  5. Steps to reading a recipe • Step 3: Make sure you understand the measuring terms. • Check that you have the proper measuring tools that match the recipe and that you understand the measurements.

Yummy Stuff • 4 Handfuls of flour • A Couple of dashes of salt • A Large palmful of sugar • 10 Large pinches of baking powder • A Dab or two of shortening • Nearly a cupful of milk What you do: Mix everything together. Roll out with enough flour and cut. Bake in a hot oven till done. Eat! Yummy in my tummy!
