  2. introduction Cloud computing • for anything that delivering hosted service over the internet. • a type of internet based computing are delivered to an organization's computers and devices through the internet. • Remote access to software or hardware via the internet • Storing and accessing data over the internet instead of a computer’s hard drive.

  4. Types of cloud computing • It is made to everyone in the internet by service provider who hosts the cloud infrastructure. • Service providers make resources like data storage or software available on the internet. • Examples: (Amazon, IBM, Microsoft and Google )

  5. Types of cloud computing • Cloud infrastructure dedicated to particular organization or group of people. • Is designed with the same features of public cloud but removes a number of objections to the cloud computing model • Example : (Social networking, Icloud, )

  6. Types of cloud computing • Community cloud • Is a multi-tenant cloud service model that is shared among several or organizations. • Managed, governed and secured by all the participating organizations or third party service provider. • Examples: (between companies and their suppliers )

  7. Types of cloud computing • Hybrid cloud • Is a combination of two or more clouds (private, public or community) • The goal is to combine services and data from variety cloud models • Examples : (organization use public cloud for archived data and private cloud for customer data )

Cloud computing problem of Stanford School of Medicine: Problem: • The biggest problem of cloud computing for the university is ‘Security’ Location of cloud service provider is housed: • Their HIPAA-protected information must reside within the United States and cannot be exported. • Cloud service providers have data centers throughout the world, and it is very possible that their data stored with the cloud service provider may be housed outside the United States.

Cloud computing problem of Stanford School of Medicine: Loss and damage information not getting proper handling: • Company handling HIPAA-protected information must sign a Business Associates Agreement (BAA) • But, the cloud service providers that offer services, are not willing to sign a Business Associates Agreement. • And lack of management of cloud computing providers in the data transfer, indirect lead to the information exported.

Information Security Service • They can perform an information security audit of the cloud computing companies and services that they interested in. • Check the company they are interested in is already on the list of approved that meet their requirement.

Advantages of Cloud Computing • Almost Unlimited Storage: Storing information in the cloud gives almost unlimited storage capacity. • Backup and Recovery: All the data is stored in the cloud, backing it up and restoring the same is relatively much easier than storing the same on a physical device  • Automatic Software Integration: cloud computing allows to customize the options with great ease.

Disadvantages of Cloud Computing • Technical Issues: • there are times when this system can have some serious dysfunction • Security in the Cloud: • Before adopting this technology, you should know that you will be surrendering all your company’s sensitive information to a third-party cloud service provider. This could potentially put your company to great risk.

Disadvantages of Cloud Computing • Prone to Attack: Storing information in the cloud could make your company vulnerable to external hacks attacks and threats • Slow speeds: Uploading and downloading of large documents may take a long time. With limited features: Using remote software that’s provided by the storage service to manipulate and modify your data, it usually lacks the features of a program running locally.

  28. Conclusion Considering the recent advances and offerings in Cloud computing it is clear that this technology is here to stay. Currently all of the big players in the IT industry such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon have some sort of Cloud computing offering. Cloud computing is changing the way IT industry buy IT. Businesses have a range of paths to the cloud, including infrastructure, platforms and applications that are available from cloud providers as online services.
