Certification • Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE) & Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP) applicants must pass a 4 hour exam covering a wide range of accounting and technology principles • To qualify to take the exam, an applicant must earn a minimum of 100 points, awarded for evidence of an applicant’s education, industry experience and/or HFTP or AH&LA membership • Once certification has been awarded, designees must complete maintenance which includes continuing education hours
CHAE • Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive There are 200 multiple choice questions divided into 5 sections: • Basic Accounting (25%) • Managerial Accounting (25%) • Asset Management (18%) • Tax & Law (18%) • Operations (14%)

As a professional association, HFTP membership is individually-based, not company-based. HFTP does not do advocacy work on behalf of specific products and services, or require its members to purchase continuing education from specific organizations to join the association.
