  3. D. Automobiles gave Americans new freedom to travel anyplace where there were roads • E. The increased availability of automobiles and public transportation such as trolleys, subways, and railroads allowed people to travel longer distances to work • F. Suburbs grew as people and businesses moved to the fringes of cities
