  2. The Renaissance had a significant influence on literature/arts in Society at this time period. With change came the four “isms”. Humanism, Individualism, secularism and scientific naturalism. Renaissance

  3. Born in Florence, Italy, Botticelli was an Italian painter of the Early Renaissance. He went on to later help with the decoration of the Sistine Chapel. Sandro Botticelli

  4. In this close up of Birth of Venus, you can see that humanism took a part of Botticelli’s painting. This is apparent by the lack of clothing the two people are wearing, showing them in their “natural state” Humanism

  5. Individualism also had an affect on Botticelli’s work. You see this clearly in his painting Primavera. The people in this painting are painted with different facial expressions, which shows individualism. Individualism

  6. Secularism is on of the ideas from the Renaissance that Botticelli didn’t use in his work. Even though he painted man in his leisure time, he always incorporated the spiritual side of man. Secularism

  7. Sandro Botticelli did not use every Renaissance influence in his paintings, but he did incorporate some. In just this painting alone, Botticelli represents the spirit of the Renaissance and the lack of Renaissance influence.
