  4. Students in 2011 entry should have access to a section on the website which prompts budget planning for their course. This should be based on information from current students. That MMU should make a minuted statement endorsing the principle of the full and complete removal of Hidden Fees from all MMU courses, to coincide with the introduction of the new tuition fee prices from 2012. The prospectus should include information about approximate additional costs that a student should expect to incur throughout their time as a student, allowing them to plan and budget effectively. This should be based on information from current students. That MMU further develop this report by conducting and publishing a full, detailed audit of all Hidden Fees. This should be accompanied by a set of Faculty action plans detailing the process by which the fees will be eliminated. The delivery of these action plans should be monitored by the appropriate committee. Student Satisfaction: Student Satisfaction: Recommendations

  5. That MMU should give further consideration to the way it supports students in the process of purchasing text books. This should be embedded within every Faculty and into induction activities, striving to ensure that students are given good advice even before arriving at MMU. That a standard policy is implemented across the University, whereby if the total cost of delivery of a specific course accounts for less than 90% of the tuition fee, then core texts are provided free of charge to students. That MMU, in partnership with MMUnion, set up a fund from which reimbursements for reasonable Hidden Fees to an agreed level can be accessed via request. This pot of money should be resourced from the fees charged under the new regime. Student Satisfaction: Student Satisfaction: Recommendations
