A: Tell me a little about your family, Tara. Do you have any brothers and sisters? B: Yes, I have one sister, Rose, and two brothers, Tim and David. A: That’s nice. Are they older than you? B: My sister is older than me, but my brothers are younger. I’m glad they’re younger. They’re not bossy.

But I have a twin brother. A: You’re a twin? Cool! Are you identical twins? B: Yeah, we are. People have a hard time telling us apart. It’s really funny at times. A: I can imagine. Is your brother also a good singer like you? B: I suppose so. We go to karaoke pretty often. A: That must be nice.

B: And another thing about me is I’m always on time. I hate it when people are late or miss appointments. A: I know... That’s so annoying, isn’t it? 2. A: Do you go out a lot, Stacy? You know, to parties and things? B: No, I don’t really like parties. A: Why not? B: I don’t really like going to places with lots of people around. I prefer places where I’m with just one or two close friends. A: Oh, I’m just the opposite. B: Really? I’m just not good at talking to people I don’t know. A: I see. A: You can never trust people like that... 4. A: I suppose you could say that I’m curious about the world. I like to learn new things all the time. I love to watch international channels on TV. B: I see. And do you like reading, Won-min? A: Yes. I read a lot. I often go to the public library because it’s nice and quiet there. B: Yeah, it’s much quieter than the school library. It’s noisy there. A: True. I can’t stand it when people make a lot of noise when I’m trying to read.

A: It was originally built to protect the empire from invading armies from the north of China. 4. A: Now did you know that frogs eat almost any live food they can find, such as insects, snails, and spiders. In fact, frogs swallow their food whole. B: Why do they do that? A: Because they can’t chew their food. Some frogs have teeth on the upper part of their mouth, but these are used for holding food and not for biting it. Some frogs catch insects with their long sticky tongues. They shoot out very quickly and catch the insects.

Unfortunately, I only see four or five movies a year. A: Really. That’s a pity. Do you have a favorite kind of movie? B: Well, comedies are my favorite. I like to laugh when I go to the movies. I don’t like ones that are too serious or that make me depressed. But you know, they don’t make very good comedies these days. A: Do you think so? Well, I prefer action movies myself. 2. A: Are you a big movie fan, Sam? B: Oh, yeah. I love going to the movies. A: How often do you go? B: About two or three times a week. Or if I don’t have time to see a movie at the theater, I’ll often watch a DVD at home. I have a pretty big collection. A: Wow, you’re a big movie fan! What kind of movies do you like? B: Oh, I’m a big fan of horror movies. I think they’re great! Don’t you? A: Yeah, some are good, but most seem silly.

I wish I could find the time to go more often, but these days, I just go once in a while. A: Oh, that’s too bad. There are so many great movies out these days. B: Really? Do you think so? A: Oh definitely. There’re some great animated movies out in particular. B: Oh yeah? Hm … I should try to go see one soon. I really like animated movies. A: So do I. They’re fun, aren’t they? 4. A: What kind of movies do you like, Julia? B: Well, all kinds, but I guess I like romantic movies the best. I saw a very good French one last week. I just don’t like movies that are scary or too serious. And I hate those scary sci-fi movies about aliens and things. A: Really? That’s funny. Those are my favorite. So do you go to the movies often? B: I try to. I go about once a week.

His acting is terrific in this film. A: It’s a good movie, I agree, but everyone has seen it already. I think we need more unusual films. 2. A: Um ... what do you think, Jong-hoon? B: Well, how about Evita? That’s unusual. It’s all singing. A: Yeah. B: Plus, the music is great; the actors are terrific. There’s that guy who plays the President. What’s his name? Let me think ... um ... Oh, yeah. Jonathan Pryce. A: Yes, but I don’t think college students like musicals very much. I’m not sure it’s suitable, Jong-hoon.

That’s a fantastic story. The female actor in it was really good. You know, Bridget Fonda. A: Yes, but Jet Li was amazing too. He’s so handsome, isn’t he? B: Well, I don’t know about that, but I guess most people like action movies. All right. Why don’t we get Kiss of the Dragon? Maybe we can show it first. 4. A: I’d like to suggest one of the Lord of the Rings movies. B: Which one, Josh? A: The third one is my favorite. What was it called? B: Um … I think it was called Return of the King. A: Yes, that’s it! B: And why do you suggest that one? A: Well, it’s such a great story and it has some of the best special effects I’ve ever seen.
