Bug in the Birks’ law simulation codes of Geant3 (GBIRK routine) is • corrected ( Z>1 were affected). • Better parametrization of Birks’ law is introduced (thank to V.Choutko). • It improves behaviour at high Z. The parameters were defined by fit to • TOF ions test-beam data. Now saturation effect is already visible for • carbon (z=6, ~ 10% effect) and rise to ~30% for aluminum(Z=13). • As the consequence new set of TOF dE/dX MC reference distributions • was generated (only for Z=1-9). Extension to higher Z-range have to be • done simultaneously with tracker (and other subdetectors). Particle • charge calculation algorithm should be modified to implement other • subdetectors measurements (RICH, TRD). • All TOF simulation/reconstruction/calibration software was modified to • implement new (final) readout scheme (gain-5 readout was removed both • for anodes and dynodes). DB files were recreated according to new • format. • 5) TOF SFET(A,C) boards temperature data handling algorithm have to be • developed for event-by-event time/charge corrections. Participation of
TOF hardware group is absolutely needed. • Fast/level1 trigger configuration data (like mask of TOF paddles/sides • included in the trigger decision logic, TOF-layers AND/OR-ing scheme, • mask of subtrigger branches etc) were collected in one object and • introduced in DB-structure. ANTI/ECAL trigger configuration parameters • have to be added (need input from ECAL-group). • TOF-section of AMS online monitor was developed. The following • sections were developed earlier : LVL1, RICH, AxAMS (need to be • extended). • The ANTI, ECAL, TRACKER, TRD sections are still missing and wait • for volunteers (i can provide ANTI section also if there is no other • pretenders). • As an example few pictures from TOF-section are shown below.
