  2. Objectives • Overview of Important School Policies & Procedures • Make sure you are well informed of what to expect (or where to find the information) before school begins on August 18

  3. Enrollment / Admissions • We have a booth devoted to the Enrollment Process • Please stop by this booth if you need to talk to Sally Wengierski or Libby Hassell – or if you have a dot on your name tag.

  4. Hours: Arrival & Dismissal PreSchool Hours • 3's/2 day Tues. and Thurs. 8:15-11:15 - Stay-n-Play available until 3:00 pm • 4's/3 day Mon.-Wed.- Fri. 8:00-12:00 - Stay-n-Play available until 3:00 pm • 4's/5 day and DK Mon.- Fri. 8:00-3:00 - Next yr. 2014-2015 After School Care available 3:00-6:00 pm • Arrival & Dismissal • 3’s can drop off at 8:00 am pick up at 11:15 am or stay and play at 3 pm • 4’s 3 day 7:45 am and 12:00 pm or stay and play until 3 pm • 4’s 5 day and DK Arrival & Dismissal • 7:45 am east side / family center doors (midway road entrance closest to the church) • 2:45 pm to 3:10 pm unless you are in After School Care More detailed information and carpool signs will be given out at Meet the Teacher / Orientation in August

Hours, Arrival & Dismissal • Kindergarten through 8th Grade • Arrival • 7:00 am * with supervision in the cafeteria only (7:30 is the standard time / but we are offering this earlier time for your convenience). • 7:45 am admitted to classroom • 8:00 am school starts • Drop off • K – 4, in front of Walnut Hill (click here) • 5 – 8, enter Midway entrance closest to the Church - back of school (click here) • Dismissal • K – 4 3:15 pm (click here) • 5 – 8 3:35 pm (click here) • After Care (K – 4) or Study Hall (5 – 8) • Inclement Weather Dismissal Plan * New time

Attendance & Absences • Attendance (Family School Handbook Grades K - 8) • Release during school hours - The student must come to the SCHOOL OFFICE BEFORE school with a handwritten note to receive a pass for early release (unless they become ill during school). • If they are coming back to school - please bring a note from their appointment so they can get back into class.

Attendance & Absences • Absence Policy (K – 8) • Late Arrival - Students who arrive after 8:00 a.m. must come to front office • Illness / Sick – Contact Student Services (not the teacher) to report student name, grade, home room teacher & sickness by 8:45 am ext. 140. Please send note to return to school. • School Work Missed • K – 5 Can request through Student Services ext. 140 • Middle School – posted on Parents Web Daily. Contact teacher if you have questions.

Academics / Academic Evaluation • Homework • All Teachers will post homework on Parents Web – covered in detail at back to school nights (held in August – CRITICAL to attend) • Quarterly Report Cards & Progress Reports • Parent Teacher Conferences (K – 8, Fall & Early Spring / PreSchool January, around Spring Break & End of School) • Grades & Conduct Scale (Grades 1 – 8) • A =Excellent, 94 – 100 • B = Good, 85 – 93 • C = Satisfactory, 76 – 84 • D = Needs Improvement, • 70 – 75F = Unsatisfactory, 69 – below • Kindergarten • Mastered, Progressing, Needs Improvement

Parent Involvement • Safe Environment • Clearance REQUIRED to Volunteer (takes at lease 1 month after attending class) • Program, screening forms, classes are available on the school website (click here). • Family of Faith class required for all new families • Parent Teacher Organization PTO • Recess, Library, Lunchroom, Home room moms, SCRIP sales • Dads’ Club – “If you’re a dad, you’re in the club” • School Board • Strategic Plan
