  13. A bit of history The construction of the Minsk Motor Plant was started in the year 1960 according to the resolution of the Government of the Republic of Belarus. The Plant was primarily targeted at building diesel engines for tractor applications. On October 12, 1962, the first D-50 experimental diesel engine was assembled with the power of 50 hp at 1600 rpm, the resource life of 2500 hours(in-line, 4-cylinder, bore/stroke 110х125 mm, Naturally aspirated, 4,75 litre). Actually, the Plant leads its history since July 23, 1963. In the year 2008 the MMP celebrated its 45th Anniversary.
