  1. How Diet Affects your Teeth and Gums

  2. Diet Affects your Teeth and Gums • What we eat today is how we look and feel tomorrow, that is certainly true especially when we talk about the health of our teeth and gums. • What food and drinks we consume can directly affect the health of our teeth and gums. • If we make the wrong choices when it comes to our diet, not only will it make us sick in the long run but it can also do damage our oral health.

  3. Here's How Diet Affects your Teeth and Gums:

  4. Eating Foods that Contain a Lot of Sugar • Sugar can contribute to tooth decay and can lead to a number of oral problems. • If you eat too many sugar-filled sodas and sweetened fruits drinks, your risk for getting tooth decay will considerably increase. • Tooth decay, as they say, is the single most common chronic childhood disease. One of the reasons is because kids love soft drinks, candies and chocolates.

  5. Not Drinking Enough Water • As simple as not drinking enough water can affect your teeth and gums. Not only does it affect your mouth, but it can also affect your overall health. • It is critical that you consume at least 8-10 glasses of water or consume water that is equivalent to half of your body weight. • Water does not only hydrate us, but it also transports vital nutrients that our body needs to other parts of our digestive system.

  6. Eating Too Many Non-nutritious Snacks and Junk Foods • We sometimes indulge in eating too many non-nutritious snacks and junk foods that are not only not good for our health but also can affect our teeth and gums negatively. • Non-nutritious snacks that are high in salt or sugar can cause health problems in the long run. You can not feel it today but sooner or later it will hunt you. • If you feel hungry, grab some fruit like an apple and you will not only satisfy some of your hunger but also give you some vitamins and minerals that your body needs.

  7. Not Eating A Balanced Diet • A balanced diet is important for us to get the nutrients that we need to work and play. • We need a variety of foods from each of the major food groups which include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean sources of protein like fish, poultry, and legumes. • By eating these healthy foods can help you get the nutrients that you need to make the most of your day.
