  1. Flossing Tips for Healthy Gums Flossing Tips for Healthy Gums 01 Choose the Right Floss Select waxed floss for tight spaces, unwaxed for a better grip, or dental tape for wider gaps. People with braces can use floss threaders or water flossers. Floss Gently Avoid snapping the floss into your gums, as it can cause irritation or bleeding. Follow the C-Shape Technique Curve the floss around each tooth in a "C" shape and move it up and down along the gumline to remove plaque effectively. 02 03 Use a Clean Section for Each Tooth Always use a fresh part of the floss for each tooth to prevent spreading bacteria and plaque buildup. 04 Be Consistent Floss at least once a day, preferably before bedtime, to keep your gums and teeth healthy by removing food particles and plaque. 05 Don’t Forget the Back Teeth Molars are often neglected, but they accumulate plaque easily. Make sure to floss them thoroughly. 06 Consider Alternatives If traditional flossing is difficult, try water flossers, interdental brushes, or floss picks for easier cleaning. 05 www.hddental.com.au
