    2. Nehemiahs Sorrow Showed Concern Neh. 1:1-2 If we are concerned we inquire We cant pray for people if we dont ask We cant help the church if we dont know what is harming it Acts 20:31, 2 Cor 11:28

    3. Nehemiahs Sorrow Showed Concern Could be touched Neh. 1:3-4 Felt the plight of his brethren 4 months later it was still obvious (Neh 2:1-2) Sorrow is good if it leads to godly action 2 Cor 7:8-11

    4. Nehemiahs Sorrow Showed Concern Could be touched Determination Neh. 1:11 His sorrow produced determination to take action James 2:14-17

    5. Nehemiahs Supplication An example in prayer He prayed when in sorrow (Neh 1:4) when making important choices (Neh 2:1-4) He was successful because he trusted in God and prayed

    6. Nehemiahs Supplication An example prayer (Neh 1:5-11) Earnest entreaty: day and night for days Humble confession of sins (vv. 6-7) Knew his own faults Not blaming others for his own faults

    10. Nehemiahs Sacrifice Often we miss the great sacrifice he made Neh. 1:11 cupbearer to the king Phil. 2:1-11 A sacrificial life for the needs of others Rom 12:1-2 Are we willing to sacrifice? Our time? Our money? Our wills? Sacrifice is what it will take to make our congregation strong and pleasing to God

    11. Nehemiah A man of concern A man of prayer A man of sacrifice Let his example make us stronger workers in the kingdom
