About this Guide Teachscape Reflect is a complete observation and evaluation management and reporting system that delivers actionable feedback to teachers and streamlines the evaluation process for Evaluators. This guide was especially designed for Howard County evaluators and teachers using Reflect during the 2012-2013 school year. The evaluation criteria is based on Charlotte Danielson’s Framework For Teaching 2013 instrument.

  7. The Reflect Dashboard

  8. Reflect Dashboard Enter the teacher’s first or last name in the “Search” field to easily locate the teacher’s evaluation.

  9. Reflect Teacher Evaluation Screen Following are the assessments that make up the Howard County Teacher Evaluation Process.

  10. Reflect Teacher Evaluation Screen “Change” button provides the opportunity to assign evaluation responsibilities to another evaluator. “Manage” button allows evaluator to grant permission to other administrators to review this evaluation. Note: By default, all evaluators in your school will have permission to review your assigned teacher evaluations.

  11. Domain 1: Planning and Preparation Review

  12. Teacher submits planning artifacts

  13. Teacher submits planning artifacts Upload your artifacts (eg: documents, scanned paperwork, pictures, etc.) When artifacts are uploaded, select “Submit” Warning: You cannot add or delete artifacts after you Submit.

  14. Evaluator reviews artifacts

  16. Evaluator scores Domain 1 practice Note: This is not an announced classroom observation and therefore no need to schedule an event.

  21. Evaluator starts scoring Click the Score button to score the first component.

  22. Evaluator completes scoring Select level of performance for this component Review and Select critical attributes Review rubric language

  23. Evaluator completes narratives (optional) and submits assessment for teacher review

  24. Announced Observation Assessment

  25. Evaluator schedules pre-observation conference Click on the “Schedule” button to schedule the Pre-Observation Conference.

Evaluator schedules pre-observation conference Select date Select time Enter description An email notification will be sent to the teacher and Evaluator including the date/time of the conference as well as an .ics attachment file that will allow teacher and Evaluator to add the event to their calendar.

  27. Teacher Submits Pre-Observation Planning form

  28. Teacher Submits Pre-Observation Planning Form Respond to each question (no maximum field length).

  29. Teacher Submits Pre-Observation Planning Form “Submit” button notifies the evaluator that the Pre-Observation Planning Form questions are ready for review. NOTE!!! Modifications cannot be made once the responses have been submitted.

  43. Evaluator completes preliminary scoring Click on “Save & Finish Later” Note: Do not submit scores to teacher until after the post-observation conference.

  44. Evaluator schedules post-observation conference

  45. Teacher shares any lesson artifacts (optional)

  46. Evaluator reviews teacher’s lesson artifacts

  47. Evaluator submits additional artifacts

  48. Post-Observation Conference: Evaluator can add/change evidence and update scores

  49. Evaluator reviews evidence and update scores Either select the component to score via the breadcrumbs listed above or click the Score button to score the first component and move to the next component in sequence.

  50. Evaluator writes narratives
