  1. Bye-Bye Bullfrog:A Psychoeducational Group for Students who are Bullies Presented by: Bailey N. Wilson

  2. Rationale 3rd-5th grade students are constantly changing and maturing. As a teacher, I have seen bullying as an issue with these students and the literature backs up what I have witnessed. 15% of students say that they experience some form of bullying on a weekly basis. Verbal bullying occurs the most, followed by social, physical and cyber bullying. Bullies are often seen as being aggressive and antisocial children, but many children who bully do so because they are supported and encouraged by their group for friends.

  3. Population: 8-12 3rd-5th Graders Physically hurt someone, stole from someone, and/or damaged someone’s belongings Said mean comments about someone behind their back and/or spread rumors or gossiped about someone Excluded someone from their group of friends on purpose and/or gave dirty looks or mean gestures to others Posted rude things about someone online and/or sent a mean text message to someone Referred by teacher or parent

  4. Purpose The purpose of this group is to learn what it means to be a bully, including a physical bully, verbal bully, social bully, and cyber bully. The students will use videos and children’s literature to learn about bullying behaviors in other people. The goal for the end of the 8 week group is to be able to make changes in behavior to overcome bullying actions.
