FOREWORD The Warsaw School of Economics employs outstanding scholars not only from thefield of economics and management but also, among others, from the fields oflaw, sociology and political science. Their presence is a guarantee of the high levelof scientific, research and educational activity of our university. • Warsaw School of Economics was founded in 1906as Poland’s first universityof economics. • Professor Leszek Balcerowicz – an SGH graduate and lectureris considered to be the mainarchitect of the Polish economic transformation after 1989.
