Final Cut Express • Final Cut is a non-linear video editing software developed by Macromedia and later Apple. We used this to add credits and to add the video clips to music • We used Final cut for the majority of our clip editing as well as the credit sequences. It allowed to add text over the existing film and add audio. Although it is a good piece of software, its time needed to render images proved frustrating and time consuming especially with long clips. By using the software, we learnt how to do accurate clip transitions. We used this to make the black/white effect at the start.
Garage band I made extensive use of garage band to make the soundtrack for our clip. I was responsible for making the complete track and working on the music fading in and out as well as picking the right music for a scene. Garage bad allowed me to find new sounds and combine them to make music appropriate to whets happening in the clip. The only drawback with using garage band on the Mac is that the sounds being already imported, don't give you access to three instruments to make it yourself go have to rely on pre made music.
After effects • Adobe After Effects is a digital motion graphics software package published by Adobe Systems, used in the post-production process of films and TV. • We needed to use After-effects make the clip look more professional although we used Final cut predominantly more, we used it initially to add credits and effects.
