3. Community Grant Program • WHAT: $10,000 one-year grants (July 1, 2014 –June 30, 2015) • Function on reimbursable basis • Match is required (in-kind acceptable) • WHY: Link EKU (faculty, students, expertise, etc.) with community • Driven by community needs and interests • build community capacity • Develop ongoing, mutually beneficial relationships with EKU personnel and programs

7. Eligibility for Funding & Guidelines 1. Communities must partner with an EKU Unit 2. Travel can be included 3. Community Project Directors OK— • EKU personnel cannot be paid from grants 4. Communities must demonstrate support (in-kind, matching) • Letters of commitment • Documentation of volunteer in-kind hours 5. Organizations must be based in the community GUIDELINES – Pg 2

8. Eligibility for Funding & Guidelines (cont) • 6. Only one $10,000 project will be awarded in a county • 7. Two Quarterly Reports and One Final Report are required • 8. Projects must serve one or more counties in the EKU 22-county service region • May include areas outside of these counties • 9. Funding is on a reimbursement basis • 10. Matching Requirement • ARC Distressed or At Risk *(20% required community match): • Bell, Casey, Clay, Estill, Garrard, Harlan, Jackson, Knox, Laurel, Lee, Leslie, Lincoln, McCreary, Owsley, Perry, Powell, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Wayne, and Whitley • ARC In Transition (30% required community match): ---Madison • Not ARC-Listed (40% required community match) ---Boyle “At Risk” is covered under “Distressed”
