  15. Points to Remember • Bilingual Multicultural Education and Title III Programs are optional. However they are an asset for ALL Students! • 58 districts receive state funds and 53 receive Title III Funds. • Funds are available for all districts and charters who wish to apply. • District’s accountability for the use of funds and program effectiveness is a statutory requirement.

  16. New Mexico Beliefs about Language • Language is one of the most significant components influencing a child’s education and future life. • Children perform better academically when they learn (systematically) in more than one language.
