Basic SQL Reporting Understanding Report Structure • Two parts to reports • Heading • Appears at the top • Includes general information • Report title • Date • Page number • Detail • Contains actual report data • More complex reports may group data • Groups may contain header & footer information

Basic SQL Reporting Changing Sorting and Grouping for a Report • Reporting Task Menu • Execute a report • Click sorting and grouping tab • Predefined groups appear if available on report in the order they print on the report • Headers and footers are per group • Click Group to change • Click available Sort to change, can change multiple sorts if available • Click drop down arrow in Group By box to select field name for new sort • New sort name appears in the Defined Group box
