DCT Costa Rican Cichlid Compound • Don Conkel’s Tropicals owns and operates a collecting compound and cichlid farm in Jaco, Costa Rica. Here, cichlids are extracted from the wild and bred in hand dug, plastic lined pools. Common species are allowed to be exported as well as small wild caught specimens of most all species. En-threatened and endangered breeder specimens must be bred locally for exportation purposes.
