Homework – for next week Question – Is it possible to be fit but not healthy? (Find out the link to this man?)
HEALTH • According to the World Health Organisation, the definition of HEALTH is: “A STATE OF COMPLETE PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND SOCIAL WELL-BEING AND NOT MEARLY THE ABSENCE OF DISEASE OR INFIRMITY” • THIS IS THE DEFINITION YOU NEED TO LEARN FOR YOUR EXAM!!!!!
EXERCISE • Definition required for exam: “A form of physical activity which maintains or improves health and / or physical fitness”
FITNESS • Fitness is defined as: “THE ABILITY TO MEET THE DEMANDS OF THE ENVIRONMENT”
In your own words, explain the terms(taking into consideration the definition, what do they mean? Use examples?) • Health • Fitness • Being all around healthy • No physical injury, or illness that affects your health (diabetes) • No mental problems (Depression) • No social issues (Mute) This means that you are able to cope with the amount of physical work you need to do! For example, players who are fit can run further and faster, hold off tackles, hit more good shots and get into better gymnastic positions. • Exercise • Health conditions due to lack of exercise include heart disease, high blood pressure and back pain. • These diseases are relieved by taking exercise and also increase fitness levels which has a number of different benefits
