Maccabi Latin American Confederation, (Constituted in Uruguay, May 1950) represents Maccabi WorldUnion in LatinAmerica Itcoordinates and createsactivitiesfortheintegration of Latin American Countries, undertheumbrella of the Maccabi Movement Itreunites 200.000 associatedmembers in 15 countriesintegratingtheJCCsor Maccabi structures in each country orcommunity. MACCABI WORLD UNION has 400.000 membersdistributed in 50 countries in the 5 continents.

  3. But ¿Why is CLAM Engaged in Hasbara?

  4. Responsibility of the Jewish communities to explain, justify, refute or contextualize what is happening in the Middle East.

  5. Anguish of some Jews trying to defend and to explain Israel's position when there is conflict in the area.

  6. CLAM brings together a wealth of community services in the continent and a large number of young activists and leaders

Trainning Seminars • Teachers from Israel • Evolutionary and permanent (material between seminars, classes in facebook etc) • By Dargot – 10 levels. 1 or 2 levels per seminar. • In each seminar: • Middle East • Israel • Techniques • A Local or Current issue • SeminarsforJournalists and/orevangelists • Interviews for local Media

  10. Biannual special course for the last two years of the Jewish High Schools Course filmed in Israel taught by the best teachers in Spanish and in Hebrew (subtitled) Kit for each school: Videos and activities Training for local Morim Review from Israel and Teudot from Israel

OUR ACHIVEMENTS Educate communities about the need to raise the domain of contents about Israel To build a network of communities working simultaneously and coordinated with the same project The possibility of working with more than 1200 participants of 20 different communities in 14 countries... Extend the feeling that there are things we can do to defend Israel actively .

  12. NEXT CHALLENGES •Book Editorial and constant messages in Twitter, Facebook Expositions and “El Canal de la Paz” Chronics for TV Todeepenthe target: Evangelists, local journalists, and politicians •Masa Program – Katavim and special assignments for Activists

  13. Israel Advocacy in the Jcc: ¿Why is this also our role? Jcc´s in Latin America are becoming a central reference to the communities Leadership training is a main objective in our Jcc´s. A Jewish leader have to be informed. The information should be unified and coherent. The campaign against Israel is well organized by specialists in propaganda. JCC has a central role in training young people, and adults that are aware of the Israel delegitimization campaign.

Problems and Challenges to Consider JCCs are not political institutions and these matter have political implications: Always have the local political institution inside the training and the hasbara activities An official speaker should be appointed and informed if journalist become aware of the involvement of the JCC To engage in this kind of program the JCC have to compromise with an ideology. ¡This is a hard but very important work to do!
