  2. What is the learning zone? Here are some clues. (Let’s look for some items in our library.)

  4. Teacher-librarians wear many hats Have you thought about what the teacher librarian does?

  5. Did you know that teacher-librarians: • Tell stories? • Do book talks? • Help students select books for their interest and reading level? • Model reading strategies?

  6. Did you know teacher librarians • Are curriculum leaders? • Are knowledgeable about curriculum requirements? • Are constantly evaluating the collection to ensure students have access to needed resources? • Are able to gather First Nations and Metis resources?

  7. And… teacher-librariansare much more: • Teachers and Teacher-Librarians meet together to discuss what is best for student achievement. Collaboration involves all members of the school team.

Teacher-Librarians • Provide educational leadership in the school community. • Share information and plan professional development for the whole school. • Know resources that support the curriculum and keep teachers informed. • Teach side by side with classroom teachers. • Work with advanced learners and help with differentiated instruction
