Certification vs. Certificate Both are valuable, it depends on what you want Certification Certification measures experience, knowledge and skill against a set of criteria and the assessment is carried out by a neutral, third party organization. Experience is required and is often the entry point. Certificate A certificate is usually obtained as a result of taking a course and possibly, passing an exam. Experience is not required, and in some cases is the first step for entering a new profession.

CTDP & CTP Designations Certified Training and Development Professional ™ For the Learning & Development Professional For Facilitators, Instructors, Instructional Designers, Training Managers, Directors of Education Design / Delivery and Human Resource Professionals who specialize in training. They must have a minimum of 4 years full-time experience. CTDP Certified Training Practitioner™ Specialized For Facilitators, Instructors & Master Trainers who have a minimum of 2 years part –time experience. CTP
Ready for Certification? • Become a member of CSTD or renew membership if it is due • Review the depth and breadth of your experience … • Consider the work you are doing and for how long • Review your resume to ensure that it outlines your years of experience accurately and is up to date • Think about the time commitment to study, prepare and gather your materials.
