  1. Scarlet Market

    Scarlet Ambassadors
  2. Scarlet Market is a spirit shop that students have access to during lunch, before, and after school. They can purchase school supplies and school merchandise. What is “Scarlet Market”?
  3. The Scarlet market can bring revenue for the school. Other Des Moines schools like North and Roosevelt have a school store. By having the school store we believe it can bring more school spirit and potentially unite the students. Why have the “Scarlet Market”?
  4. School supplies: Notebooks, Pens/Pencils, Erasers, Index cards, Folders, Binders, etc…. School spirit: We would start out selling T-shirts, Sweatshirts, Hats, Buttons, and Lanyards. But potentially get to Phone cases, Key chains, Window stickers, PomPoms, and etc… What are we selling?
  5. We will be using the old attendance office. It would attract attention from students, administrators, parents, and anyone who walks by it! Therefore, this will help with the advertising of the store. Where is the “Scarlet Market” going to be located?
  6. We plan on selling old/left over merchandise donated by Mr. El-Baroudi. We will use the money made from that to buy more merchandise. We plan on getting sponsors/donations from businesses on the Eastside. Where is the money coming from?
  7. Student Funding: The art program can get materials to support the school by painting school-spirit based murals, there will be new textbooks/technology, school supplies for the store, athletic equipment, fix up athletic venues, potential educational field trips. How can the school benefit from it?
  8. We can get merchandise with the Be East logo on it. Facuilty can hand out tickets for good behavior that can add up to get merchandise at the Scarlet Market. With positive merchandise around the school, it would put the students in a positive attitude to Be East! Be East!
  9. The students in ambassadors class, Mr. El-Baroudi’s Economic and Business classes, Mr. Weite's Career Transitioning classes, Ms. O'connor's Student Government class, and people who need volunteer hours. What students will be working the “Scarlet Market” and what teachers will help?
  10. The Athletic Department suggested prices and provided new/old clothing such as baseball and basketball shirts. Newer items typically will be sold at $10 Older material will be sold at $5 School supplies, such as lanyards (customized) or penicls, will range from 10 cents to $2. The store would profit $2.50 from AD office for every t-shirt sold and the rest would go back to benefit the AD office. Example Pricing
  11. Old Girl's State Basketball T-Shirt ($5) New Girl's State Basketball T-Shirt ($10)
  12. $8 $10 for shirts
  13. We talked to the Graphic Design teacher (Mr. Bright) and discussed new products like phone cases (Iphone, S3,S4), color changing coffee mugs or regular mugs, mouse pads, lanyards, window stickers, etc.. Mr. Bright agreed to make a decal for our roll up gate at our location. Not just shirts
  14. Making ad’s in the Scroll and T.V. in cafeteria Posters Announcements Include Art and Sewing classes to create more appealing merchandise for the school, which could lead to funding in their programs as well. Future goals for the “Scarlet Market”…
