  3. Role of DPE/TCE • Who does the DPE/PPE work for? • For the FAA at our discretion and based upon the needs of the flying public • Appointed by law PL 103-272 §44702 and FAR §183 • The FAA and its designees are in a symbiotic relationship

  4. Responsibilities • General • Know the checking/certification requirements for your aircraft authorizations • AFM, AOM, RFM, FSB Reports • Get your paperwork in during renewal window • Administer all practical test in accordance with the appropriate practical tests standards and other requirements • Check Introduction of all PTS responsible

  5. Responsibilities • PTS’s • Know requirements of test • Plan of action • Written • Cover oral and flight • Special Emphasis Areas • Special Flight Characteristics • Changes • WAAS/LPV/VNAV/English Language • Keep good records • Accident/incident investigations

Responsibilities • Renewal • Paperwork in during the renewal window • Schedule observation with client and POI • Activity, must meet one (1) of the following: • 10 certifications or aircraft rating test in airplanes • 5 in other types • 5 Instrument rating practical tests • 5 ATP practical tests
