Double Degree Programmes Eng* + Bizad Eng* + Econs BEng(Hons) / BBA(Hons or Acc.Hons) ; or BEng(Hons) / BSocSci(Hons); or BEng(Hons) / BBA or BBA(Acc) BEng(Hons) / BA Introduction • Most programmes are designed to be completed within five years (9 to 10 semesters). • Maximum candidature is six years for all DDPs. *All Engineering programmes except Engineering Science
Double Degree Programmes Objectives – DDP (Engin & Econs) Engineering & Economics are complementary both in their intellectual tools and in their objects of study! • Engineering – innovative and creative application of mathematical and scientific principles to the creation of products, technology and services for the good of humanity • Economics – optimal choice and combinations of such systems for the achievement of maximum wealth given the society’s limited resources
Double Degree Programmes Entry Requirements (Yr 2 Intake) • At least CAP of 3.75 but typically CAP > 4.0 after first year • Economics – Required to have read EC1301 and at least one other Economics module (excluding EC2303) at point of application. Performance in Math modules (e.g. MA1505 and MA1506) taken into consideration. • Business – Advised to read one or two business modules • Interviews may be required. 4

Double Degree Programmes Exit • Students can choose to leave the programme or • Students are required to leave if they fail to meet the requirements depending on the year of admission: • For candidates admitted from AY 2014/15: minimum CAP of 3.75 for home course AND minimum CAP of 3.25 for the second degree Curriculum & Time Table Issues • Students may seek the assistance of their own Departmental administrators (Ms Lesley Poong, Office of UG Programs for Common Engineering students).
Double Degree Programmes IMPORTANT NOTES: • All Engineering modules will be pre-allocated according to the recommended schedules for Semesters 1 & 2 (i.e. no bidding via CORS is required) • Detailed recommended schedules will be available from your respective Departmental websites.
