  1. Guidelines to pray for the church It is important to note that when we study the state of the church, our AIM IS NEVER to critisize, but to yield our hearts and join Christ in intercession who made these things known to us. Therefore – if you notice some instances to be true of your own life and/or congregation – it is for this very reason – that we can pray and NOT join Satan in accusation, BUT Christ in intercession.

  2. For this week’s notes, send an e-mail to: jericho@jwipn.com With subject: Notes of 30/03/2010 POSITIONED FOR REVIVAL (Session 5)

  3. Mission 24-7 • When Satan interferes: Nehemiah • When God intervenes: Fire from heaven • When the Church intercedes • Put God back in the centre (Rev.2:1-7) • Stand after a spiritual assault (Rev.2:8-11) • Stand amidst trials & persecution (Rev.2:8-11) • Recognising witchcraft in the church (Rev.2:12-29) • Dead or alive? (Rev.3:1-6) • Next week: ….Take up your keys and fight….

  4. REPOSITION : WatchRev 3:2-3 NKJ: "I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. Remember therefore HOW you have received and heard; hold fast and repent.

  5. Reposition your thinkingAre you dead or alive? • Zeal for gospel doctrine & worship – grace and patience lack. • Esteemed, famous for the way of practicing of ‘church’ – it looks impressive, but has no substance. • No unhappy divisions – everything appeared well to observation of men. • Form of godliness - but no power.

  6. Reposition your thinkingAre you dead or alive? • Have a name that you are live, but principle of life is lacking: - deadness in their souls in services - deadness in spirit of ministers - deadness in ministry, prayer and response - dead in exercise of grace 7. Only a few still alive – but at danger of dying also because of pressure.

  7. Reposition your thinkingAre your works perfect before God? • The work is done – but not whole heartedly. • Prayers are not filled up with holy desire –difference between begging & pleading & supplication. • Good works not filled up with true help – does not bring transformation. • Sabbaths not filled with devotion of the soul – people don’t connect with God. • Inward affections contradicts outward acts and expressions – people think you are ok, but you know you are not.

  8. Reposition your thinking: Remember what you learned So call to mind the lessons you received and heard; continually lay them to heart and obey them, and repent. Not only remember WHAT you heard but HOW you have received and heard. • One mindset is to mainly focus to understand/ perceive/ interpret everything with the mind. • Another mindset has to do with the heart experience and that becomes the way you understand/interpret/perceive the instructions of the Word.

  9. Reposition your thinking Keep your garments clean • Not give in to prevailing corruptions. • Integrity, whole-heartedly. • Have you become stagnant? • Are you desperate for God now as you were in the beginning? • Have you become too familiar with His presence? • Do you find yourself thinking – I know how it works? • The call to watch is not only to pray more – that is how we watch through listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit. • Watch here implies: Stop and watch the attitude of your own heart with regard to our Christian understanding/ perceptions – are they still agreeing with the Word? Hurts & bad experiences may cause error in how and what we believe. • Watchfulness against sin, and Satan, and everything destructive to the life and power of godliness.

  10. Reposition your thinkingBe clothed with white garments • White robes of justification, adoption. • Walk with Christ in the clean garments of real practical holiness here and now will lead to us walking with Christ in the white robes of honour and glory one day. • Rev.7:14-15: These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. … they are before the throne of God, … serve Him day & night in His temple. He who sits on the throne will dwell among them.

  11. Pray for the church this week • Revelation of the fullness of the Holy Spirit of God, Is.11:2 • For pastors to be ignited again in hearing Jesus’ voice • For the Church to realise that all of their works are bare and without power when done in own strength. • For the Church to recognise which of their works are dead and for courage to reposition. • For the Church to become willing to repent and turn with holy violence from what is displeasing to God. (…turn from their wicked ways, humble themselves, seek God's face and pray. (2 Chron.7:14)).

  12. Pray for the church this week • For the Church to have a revelation of God's goodness over them and to pour out their hearts in repentance before Him. (Rom 2:4). • For the church to be strengthened in the good and upright things which she do practice. (Rev.3:2). • For the Church to persevere in her calling to be the light of the world and complete the commission of Christ. • For the Church to grow in the fear of God – realising all her works are done in the sight of the Father, that she will not be negligent in any of the good things she do.

  13. Pray for the church this week • Pray that the Church will not only rememberwhat she had received and heard, but how she had received and heard, the impressions the mercies of God when they first received them. • Pray that the Church will realise that Jesus may visit her at any time – that she will grow an expectant heart. • Pray that the Church will once again join Christ in watching over right and wrong in intercession. • Pray that the Church will wake up from her slumbering and sleep and arise to Christ the hope of her calling.

  14. Pray for the church this week • Pray for those who remain faithful despite the rising of the dead church around them, to continue to stand, not soiling their garments and continuously intercede for the church to become alive. • Ask for the Church to overcome this world in every aspect of life, so she will be clothed in white garments. • Ask for every believer today, that they will be mindful of Christ and the Father, honouring the working of the Holy Spirit, so that their names will not be removed from the Book of life. • Ask for Believers to boldly proclaim the name of the Lord wherever they go – not to be ashamed of His Name. • Ask for every believer to open their ears and listen to what the Spirit is saying to the church with great humility.
