  2. Origins • Australian Rules Football is also known as “Aussie Rules” or “Footy”. • The game dates back to a man named Tom Wills, he invented this crazy game for cricketers to keep fit during the winter.

  3. Cultural and Ethnic diversity • Australian rules football is a very traditional sport that has been round for many years. • It is played in approximately 30 different countries around the globe. In 2004 over 25,000 people participated in Aussie Rules outside of Australia. • Since then it has grown to over 35,000 in 32 countries playing Aussie Rules in competitions.
