How many, how long, and how much From 1 October, the absolute limit will be £20.00 • You may borrow up to sixteen items • Loan periods depend on the item status: • Ordinary Loan 4 weeks • Short Loan 1 week (FT); 2 weeks (PT) • Overnight To be returned before noon the following day • Reference Library use only • Study Loan To be returned before 9.30 the following day • Fines • Ordinary Loan 30p per day • Short Loan 50p per day • Overnight £2.00 per day • Study Loan £2.00 per day

Library Catalogue: Coverage • Used to discover the location and availability of physical and some electronic resources: • Books • Dissertations (undergraduate and postgraduate) • DVDs, CDs and other software • Periodicals (from newspapers to scholarly journals) Note: The Library Catalogue has a new user interface, which should make it much easier to use!

  13. The Search Refinement Process • You can go through several iterations of the refinement process. Add as many steps as you need: • strategic management = 514 • Plus Subject: international business enterprises management = 24 • Plus Collection: Electronic Books = 2 • Bread crumbs detail the route, and allow you to return to earlier stages of the search: • This method of searching is also used with the more sophisticated Library databases (Business Source Premier, Emerald, etc.)

  14. Catalogue: Refined Results Click on the title to view the record Details of location and availability; for e-books this includes a link to the resource: www.myilibrary.com

  15. ALWAYS Reserve Unavailable Items Input your ten digit Student ID number (do not include the dash before the last digit) • Reservations • Books and other resources that are currently on loan or located at one of the other campus libraries should be reserved:

  16. ‘More Search Options’ Advanced search options: • Detailed keyword searches; • Specific Author and/or Title • etc. • All of the options may be used in any combination

  17. My Library Account I The link to your Library Account that appears at the top of every page within the Catalogue Summary details Summary of any outstanding charges: fines for overdue items; invoices for lost items

  18. My Library Account II Use the tick box(es) to select the item(s) to be renewed Review the status of outstanding reservations; cancel if necessary
