Waikato Regional Council • NZ Regional Councils manage natural and physical resource use and development (RMA) • NZ has15 Regional Councils • 3 have NZs known high temp. geothermal systems • All except one are in the Taupo Volcanic Zone • Waikato has 15 large systems (>70% of NZs resource) • 5 of these have large power developments • Many smaller uses across region
