  2. A pipe fitting is defined as a part used in a piping system, for changing direction, branching or for change of pipe diameter, and which is mechanically joined to the system. There are many different types of fittings and they are the same in all sizes and schedules as the pipe. • Stocks include dual grades 304/304L, 316/316L and 321/321H austenitic stainless steel, as well as other material grades in sizes 15 NB (1⁄2″) to 400 NB (16″) in SCH 10S, SCH 40S and SCH 80S. Larger sizes and heavier schedules, such as SCH 160 or XXS, are readily available through our worldwide network.
