What is the Agency for Health Quality and Assessment of Catalonia (AQuAS) Public entity depending on the Catalan Health Ministry that acts in service of the public policies To generate relevant knowledge to contribute to the improvement of the quality, safety and sustainability of the Catalan health system, focusing on assessment and using information, analysis and IT as main tools. Mission • Health technology assessment (including drugs) • Analysis of performance of healthcare centers • IT service center (shared eHealth records + electronic prescription) • Security protection on health data Main functions http://observatorisalut.gencat.cat/ 2

Using health information to improve quality of care The project consists in relating and analysing the information that is constantly being generated at an individual level across all the Catalan healthcare system, in an anonymous and secure way, and to give analysis to researchers so that they can improve and impulse their activity. Relate and analyze INFORMATION in an individualized, secured and anonymized way • Information Define a service catalog that allows to generate KNOWLEDGE from this information • Knowledge • Value Create VALUE for the Catalan health system and to the citizens from the knowledge generated 4

The project will provide value directly and indirectly at three different levels Increased ability to attract talent and investment on health research sectors and other sectors directly or indirectly related to the life sciences. Increased ability for the research and development institutions and for the healthcare industry in general (suppliers, pharma, biotech, medical devices, etc.) to carry out their activities Increased capacity to planand allocate resources, find efficiencies, proactivity on patient health and experience improving, system control and performance assessment and improvement, etc. 5

  8. CC-BCN Working plan • Activity 1. Organization of the WHO FIC Network Annual Meeting in 2014. • Create a common work space of discussion for the WHO-FIC Work Groups • Collaborate to drawn the WHO-FIC Network the roadmap for the forthcoming year • Disseminate the progress of the ICD and other classifications • Give visibility to the Spanish-speaking members of the WHO-FIC Network and promote a networking space for these members • Activity 2. Support to the ICD-11th developments. • Participation in the reference groups meetings and discussions, with special interest in Mortality Reference Group and the Family Development Committee. • Activity 3. Uses of ICT and eHealth tools applied to CTS products. • Increase the use of ICT and eHealth tools among professionals through devices of automatic codification. • Activity 4. Dissemination of classification systems and promotion of their added-value. • Creation of an updated repository of e-learning experiences and tools related to CTS products. • Activity 5. Implementation of the current use versions of ICD in the Spanish territory. • Create a repository of all the Spanish ICD implementation guidelines 8
