  4. Characters: • Harris – Crazy farm boy • Narrator – young boy who goes to live with Harris • Glennis-Evil sister • Ernie-Crazy rooster • Knute- Shy, quiet dad • Claire - mother • Louie – messy eater, farmhand • Buzzer-Evil bobcat

  5. Character Study Narrator- Is always trying not to get in trouble. Trying to not get bitten by “Buzzer.” Harris is always dragging him into crazy adventures. Harris-Harris is a crazy farm boy. He’s always dreaming up crazy adventures. He always gets hurt.

  6. Problem • The boy had to live with Harris’s family because his parents were drunks • Harris is always getting in trouble and getting hurt • Rooster attacks them • Hard to get enough food

  7. Plot • This story is about a boy who goes to live with his cousin in the country. • He wasn’t sure how to get along because Knute was silent, Glennis was always hitting Harris. • He was always getting into crazy trouble with Harris. • He learns that he likes the family and wants to stay. • He has to go back home.

  8. Resolution The book ends with Harris chasing after the boy as he is being taken home. The boy is sad that he has to leave, and Harris is sad too.
