  3. Star Ranking I felt this rating was appropriate because it was a very beneficial internship that had just a couple small flaws. I worked with several different people to achieve many tasks, which allowed me to showcase my teamwork abilities. The site manager, and other supervisors, were genuinely interested in the quality of my internship, and made sure that I was doing work that was relevant to my field. The work environment was usually relaxed and the track environment was casual, which worked well with my personality. The only downside real downside was that sometimes I felt like I did not have much to do. My boss’s were the opposite of micromanagers, and sometimes I would have to find and create tasks.

  6. Pictures •  • One of the race car’s getting prepped in the garage •  • Another race car getting prepped. I took a ride along in this car, which we maxed out at about 180 mph. After the laps, the driver knew his car so well that he was able to guess my weight.

Intership Objectives • Work with current customers, such as the performance driving school, individual customers, and corporate customers, to increase business. • Implement a sponsorship program at the Texas World Speedway. • Work with GridWorks to improve their business and client base. • Help figure out who our customers and target markets are. Also figure out what those customers needs are.

  8. Daily Activities Main Office • Assist GridWorks with finding new clients and any other tasks. • Assist Mr. Mather, site supervisor, with any tasks • Work on finding sponsors. Track Office • Work on any previous tasks assigned. • Help Rusty, track manager, with any tasks. • Help setup the track and signs for upcoming events.

  9. Project Description • Sponsorships at the Texas World Speedway has been almost non-existent for years, but since new ownership has taken over the Speedway sponsorships have become more of a priority. My task was to implement a sponsorship program that is effective both while I am here and after I am gone. • This was the only remnants of a sponsorship program at the start of my internship.
