Traffic and Pedestrian Related Safety Concerns • 33 Safety Concerns received in May – 31 traffic related (94%) • Some concerns included: • B79 forklift operators – going the wrong way on Glaser Road • Continued concerns at B45/New Fire Station • Uneven pavement on Chu Road/CRT • Stop Sign near B-65/CRT • Several slip hazards in roads/walkways reported (B-15, and B-67) • Can’t use GPS when traveling – not reimbursable by Lab • Began customer feedback survey this month

  3. LBNL Traffic Violations • March 2012 (only after 3/13) • 6 citations issued • All in vicinity of B-71 • April 2012 • 12 citations issued • 1 near Parking Lot L (B-46) • 1 on McMillian Road near GPL • 9 near B-71 • 1 near B-76

Traffic and Pedestrian Safety Observations for May 2012 • Bicyclists on Chu Road • Stopping for Stop Sign • 4 stopped for stop sign (19%) • 17 did not stop at stop sign (81%) • Speeding • 3 were not speeding (14%) • 18 were speeding (86%) • Vehicles on Chu Road • Stopping for Stop Sign • 11 stopped at stop sign (38%) • 18 did not stop at stop sign (62%) • Speeding • 6 were not speeding (21%) • 23 were speeding (79%)

Traffic Fines (Vehicles and Bikes) Violation Fine and Points Construction Zone $234 / 1 $468 / 1 $280 / 1 $560 / 1 $480 / 1 $960 / 1 $234 / 1 $234 / 1 • Failure to stop at a STOP sign • Speeding – 10mph or less in excess of posted speed limit • Speeding - >10mph above posted speed limit • Failure to obey traffic control devices in construction site
