Importing Images • Imports single-page TIF images for manual stapling • Imports multi-page TIF images then splits, renumbers, and auto-staples • Imports associated documents (PDF, DOC, XLS, etc.) • Utility programs available: • WMLTSNG.EXE – splits multi-page TIF to single • FIXTIFF.EXE – repairs TIF file and corrects resolution

Associated Import • Import Filters are defined which can: • Use the image file name to parse multiple data elements for indexing (for example file 12345_ABC_A.TIF could be indexed as file number ‘12345’, doc type ‘ABC’, and status ‘A’) • Import single-page TIF images and append pages together into multi-page documents based on like file names (i.e. 00001_001.TIF and 00001_002.TIF can be appended together automatically) • Database lookups to populate additional index data can be trigged during the import process. Files that fail this lookup can be copied to a reject folder for further review

Scan Parameters Overview • DPI/Resolution • Paper size setting and auto-length detection • Image Enhancement – deskew, despeckle, deshade, black border removal, line removal, etc. (some functions require Kofax Adrenaline AIPE) • Blank page threshhold/deleting blank pages • Page rotation • Insert/append/delete of pages during scan process • F5 key end of document, F8 key start of document, F6 two docs on one page

  5. Fixing Stapling Mistakes • Removing misstapled items from baskets • Using tools/move images to shuffle pages • Using tools/move images to reorder pages • Using tools/move images to create a new document

Index Overview • Hot keys for Cut (Ctrl-X), Copy (Ctrl-C), Paste (Ctrl-V), and Undo last keystrokes (Ctrl-Z) • F2 is hot key to pop up table driven fields • OCR Options – OCR selected field (Ctrl-O), OCR Page, OCR document (requires Imaging Pro) • OCR output to text, to database field, to Word, to Word Perfect, to HTML (requires Imaging Pro) • Attach post-it-note (Ctrl-N)

Image Viewer Hot Keys/Options • Ctrl-F – hops to first page of document • Ctrl-L – hops to last page of document • Alt-1 thru Alt-4 – zooms into upper left, upper right, lower left, lower right quadrant of image • Tools/Keep Selection Rectangle – turn on for OCR of specific areas of a document • Tools/Show Thumbnails – converts document to thumbnail views of each page • Tools/Options – control the default zoom in Index, Search and whether the zoom view should be retained or reset when paging through document
