  1. 5 5 Simple W Simple Way ays To Detox Your L s To Detox Your Liver iver Liver is one of the largest, most important organs inside the human body- owing to the multitude of functions it serves. The liver is also called the ‘detox centre’ of the body. It filters out toxins in the blood and metabolises drugs. So, why would it need detoxing itself? Because it performs over 500 different functions in the body, including neutralising toxins, manufacturing proteins and hormones, controlling blood sugar, and helping in blood clotting post injuries. Full disclosure: The liver does a fairly good job of detoxifying and all the magical detox diets you see on social media don’t actual detoxify the liver. But, there are certainly lifestyle changes you can make to help the liver perform its function better. That, in a sense, would be the best way to “detox” your liver. Before we begin, here are signs that together indicate that your liver is struggling to function: •Bloating and gas •Acid reflux and heartburn •Constipation •Skin and/or eyes that are yellowish •Inability to lose weight •High blood pressure •Moodiness, anxiety or depression •Dark urine •Rosacea •Chronic fatigue •Excessive sweating •Bruise easily

  2. •Poor appetite Here are 5 simple ways to detox your liver: 1.Cut down on the alcohol – You must’ve guessed from your searing hangovers that our body doesn’t exactly love alcohol. The body can’t store alcohol, so when you drink, the liver has to work extra hard to burn it. Therefore, if you’re trying to ease the pressure on your liver, there is no better way to go about it than to just take it easy on the partying. 2.Keep it natural – Refined carbohydrates, processed and sugary foods, and hydrogenated oils are a burden on the liver, simply because they take a lot more effort to get digested. Cut down on processed foods and choose home-cooked food, and your liver will thank you for it. 3.Try raw vegetable juices –In most situations, eating raw fruits and vegetables is better than juicing them. But that isn’t always practical. Juicing is the solution. Vegetables such as green leafy veggies, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, beetroot, and cucumber can help make juices tasty, as well as balance your body’s pH levels. Add ginger or turmeric for that extra zing and don’t remove the pulp, to get fibre benefits. 4.Load Up on Potassium-Rich Foods Potassium is like panacea for the diligent liver. Potassium-rich foods help to lower systolic blood pressure, lower cholesterol and support a healthy cardiovascular system, in addition to helping cleanse your liver. Try foods like sweet potatoes, tomato sauces, green leafy vegetables, beans and bananas.

  3. 5.Eat Real Liver or Take Liver Tablets Liver from young, healthy, grass-fed cattle or chicken liver is rich with vitamins A and B, folic acid, choline, iron, copper, zinc, chromium and CoQ10. If you can’t stomach eating liver, you can take beef liver pills. But be sure to consult your dietician before you embark on any drastic lifestyle changes. Always.
