  4. KIC InnoEnergy Master School – 1 application procedure The application procedure consists of three steps: • Prepare • Apply online with digital copies of your documents. • If accepted: send certified copies of your documents.

  5. 1. Prepare The application is online and you cannot save your work and return to it. For this reason you must prepare everything before you start. • Check if you fulfill the general and programme specific eligibility criteria • Prepare your documents • Prepare your answers to the motivation questions

  6. General requirements • A completed BSc degree (180 ECTS). Conditional acceptance in the case of ongoing studies is possible • English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, University of Oxford/Cambridge certificates) • Documents are complete and arrive in time.

English proficiency requirements • IELTS - Academic test only • An overall band score of 6,5 with no score below 5,5. • TOEFL – Internet-based test only • Total score of 92 with writing section 22 • University of Cambridge/Oxford certificates • Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) with grades A-C • Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) with grades A-C

  8. English requirements - exemption • Would you like to get an exemption for the English language requirements? This is possible for applicants who • have completed a higher education degree instructed in English at a university or a university of applied sciences in an EU/EEA country. • have completed a degree instructed in English at a university that is physically located in one of the following countries: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand.

  11. Application form • You will need to answer questions related to your: • Personal details • Interest in KIC InnoEnergy MSc programmes and study location • Educational background • English proficiency • Motivation and experiences with innovation and entrepreneurship (see separate section)

  12. Required documents • A copy of your bachelor’s degree in original language and translated into English. • A copy of your transcript of records in original language and translated into English. All courses taken must be included. If your GPA is not included in your transcript, please include a statement from your university with information about your GPA and the information about the maximum and minimum GPA. • Proof of English proficiency. • Curriculum Vitae including details on your academic and professional career. • A copy of your passport or other kind of identification in English. • Only for students applying to the programme EMINE: please include a motivation letter on your reasons for wanting to join the programme. • Format: Every document as a separate pdf. Maximum size per document: 2MB. Maximum total size: 20MB.

Required documents • Can I still apply if I do not (yet) have a BSc degree? • If you are in the final stages of your studies and will finish your degree in the Summer of 2014, you can still apply. If accepted, this will be conditional. • If you have studied in an educational system that does not have the Bachelor/Master system, you can still apply. Our Admissions Office will evaluate your application documents and if they are equivalent to 180 ECTS, you may be accepted. • Do I need to send in recommendation letters? • No, you do not need to send in recommendation letters. You are free to add them to your application though if you think they will be beneficial for your application.

Application questions related to motivation and experiences with innovation and entrepreneurship • Please motivate in a few words why you should be accepted to a KIC InnoEnergy programme(maximum 250 characters). • Upon successful completion of a KIC InnoEnergy MSc programme, where do you see yourself from a career-entry viewpoint? (maximum 250 characters). • Where do you see yourself, career-wise, 5 years after graduation? (maximum 150 characters). • What is your ONE main personal driver for working hard and accomplishing something new day-to-day? (maximum 150 characters). • Please give a brief account of the energy challenge you prioritize most highly in the world (maximum 500 characters). • Please share some of your innovative intentions for the energy field (maximum 500 characters).   16. Certified copies Students who are accepted to one of our programmes will need to send certifiedcopies of their (BSc) degree and transcripts to the KIC InnoEnergy Admissions Office. Certified copies means copies of degree certificates, transcripts of records and statements that have been stamped and signed by the degree administration’s office (or equivalent department) of the issuing institution, or by a Notary Public.

Timeline – two application rounds We have two application rounds and we advise applicants from non-EU member states (except for Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Iceland) to apply in the first application round, because we cannot award scholarships to these applicants in the second round.

  21. Fees and scholarships • No application fee • Participation fee • Waived for EU applicants (students with citizenship from EU countries, Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland and Switzerland) • €8000/year for non-EU applicants

Fees and scholarships • Scholarship opportunities for excellent candidates • Participation fee waiver (€8000/year) for non-EU students • Monthly allowance of €750/month for 24 months • One time installation fee of €1000 (for non-EU students only) • How to apply for a scholarship? • Just tick the box in the application form when you apply for one of our programmes. No separate application needed. • Who will get a scholarship? • Scholarships will be awarded to the best candidates based on academic background, study success, quality of university, experiences with innovation and entrepreneurship.
