Pre-Departures, CRM completion over the tour of duty. 2 AFHT Meetings • Rules Compliance (including hand operated switches) & Safety Rule Book for Field Operations - How: SOFA, ORCA, MGR. Evaluations. Pre-Departures, 2 AFHT Meetings. Roll out of new Safety Rule Book. Review Handbrake policies. • Mentoring & Coaching New RTE’s. - Junior Engineers & conductors – Safety Review. Heavy grade, winter operations, Winter Bulletin. SOFA, ORCA, MGR. Evaluations. , Pre-Departures, 2 AFHT Meetings • All ORCA and SOFA rides are to include complete CRM compliance.
GOAL # 2 Reduce Cardinal Rule Violations • Promote inter-cab communication - How: SOFA, ORCA, MGR. Evaluations • Promote Handbrake Procedures - How: Safety meetings , 2 AFHT, Summery bulletin. SOFA, ORCA, MGR. Evaluations • Promote CRM Paper work - How: Daily in Bullpen, use of white board, SOFA, ORCA, MGR. Evaluations • H & S Presence during SC Zones – How: Safety Committee Memberswork Bullpens and other areas as required • Safety Meetings - How: All types – 4 Pre-departure, 2 AFHT, 1 - 4hourduring 1st Quarter • Winter operations – How- condition brake shoes, use train brake over DB in winter operation. Slow down remind all that you do not have to do track speed. How: SOFA, ORCA, MGR. Evaluations , Winter Bulletins • All ORCA and SOFA rides are to include complete CRM compliance.
GOAL #3 - Reduce Personal Injuries Promote Stretch and Flex – Specific exercises for specific tasks– Handbrakes,Switches & De-rails , Lifting knuckles, handling drawbars. Age Awareness & longer recovery time. How: Safety Meetings, SOFA/ORCA,MGR evaluations. Promote Job Briefings & Situational Awareness – How: ORCA, SOFA, MGR. Crew Evaluations, Summery Bulletins, 2 Pre- departure, revisions to footwear policy outlined in Safety Rule Book for Field Operations Promote Rules, Procedures Compliance and Safety Rule Book for Field Operations - How: ORCA, SOFA, MGR Evaluations; WhiteBoard and Bull Pen Site Inspections / Customer Audits , Derails & Restricted Clearances - How: 1 Site inspection per month of different not all areas on Wednesday prior to Workplace meeting, Cover Territory once/year by Hi-Rail. Review Avalanche protocol & procedure - How: Safety Meetings, SOFA/ORCA, Manager Evaluations Promote physical activities for older employees and promote wellness rebates - How: Safety Meetings, SOFA/ORCA, Manager Evaluations
