Title X Program The National Family Planning Program, Title X of the Public Health Service Act, was created in 1970 as the Title X of the Public Health Service Act (P.L. 91052) Mission: To provide individuals with the information and means to exercise personal choice in determining the number and spacing of their children (not to prevent , but to plan pregnancies and have better outcomes).

    3. Family Planning Services (Title X) Title X of the Public Health Service Act authorized grants to provide: Comprehensive family planning Preventive reproductive health services; such as - screening for breast and cervical cancer; screening for STDs, including HIV; general health information; and counseling and referrals.

    4. Family Planning Services (Title X) Clients are served regardless of age, gender, economic status and race Services are voluntary and client driven Services are confidential

    5. Florida Department of Healths Statewide Family Planning Program Mission: Improve the health of Floridas women and children by reducing unplanned pregnancies and promoting positive pregnancy outcomes Florida received its first Title X funding in 1972

    6. Florida Department of Healths Statewide Family Planning Program In Florida, all 67 county health departments provide family planning services For 2007, family planning services provided to 211,597 men and women Oral contraceptives were the most used method, followed by 3-month injection
