  2. Introduction • Born on December 12, 1915 in Hoboken New York to an Italian immigrant couple. • He was an only child. • His father, Martin Anthony, was a boxer-turned-fireman. • His mother, Natalie “Dolly”, was a former barmaid who often sang at family gatherings.

  3. Growing Up • An accomplished all-around athlete, with a special interest in boxing • After graduating high school, he began singing in his spare time. • Began entering local talent contests

  4. First Big Break • Sinatra and a local trio won a contest on a nationwide radio show. • Afterwards he got a Job at the Rustic Cabin where he was hired for the Harry James Orchestra. • Six months later he joined the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.

  5. The Family • First wife - Nancy Barbato. They met when he was 19 in the summer of 1934. They were married in February of 1939 and divorced in October of 1951. • Three kids • Nancy Jr. – born in 1940 • Frank Jr. – born in 1943 • Tina – born in 1948 • Married to Ava Gardner (Nov. 1951-1957), Mia Farrow (1966-1968), and Barbara Marx (1976).
