  1. What is podcast

  2. What is Podcast? More people are listening than ever before to podcasts. The number of Americans listening to a podcast each week has risen 120 percent over the past four years, according to Edison Data, and 90 million Americans listen to a podcast each month. As the audience for podcasts continues to expand, there has never been a better time for your business, brand, or personal hobby to start a podcast. It will help you to launch your own podcast and take advantage of this exciting new medium if you follow this guide. A podcast is a series of spoken words, audio episodes, all focused on a particular topic or theme, such as cycling or start-ups, in a little more detail. WHAT IS PODCAST

  3. Steps to Start a Podcast

  4. Podcasts are as diverse as the individuals who produce them. History, pop-culture, neuroscience, and even a futuristic town where aliens are friends with the Yeti are great podcasts. Your own creativity is the only limit on what you can do with a podcast. Let’s consider some basic questions before we tackle questions about choosing a podcast name, style, and show length. Ask yourself, “Why am I starting a podcast?” and What is my podcast about to start with. The rest of the definition will fall into place once you’ve addressed the why and what. Step 1: Develop a podcast concept

  5. So why are you starting a podcast?” To put it another way, “what’s your goal or purpose for your podcast?” In order to help you get started, here are some common podcasting goals:Generate leads for a company. To be known in an industry as a leader. Share a significant message. Enjoy the fun. Writing your response down is useful so that you can go back to it as you create the idea of your show. Identify your podcast goals

  6. Now it is time to find out the subject of your show. Your subject can be as wide-ranging as pop-culture or as concentrated as discussions about recent rulings of the Supreme Court. Being enthusiastic for whatever you want is the only prerequisite. It should be something that you’re excited about studying and sharing daily. When you have an idea about what to do with your podcast, it’s time for market study. You can check Apple Podcasts (formerly iTunes) for the subject of your show to see if there are already podcasts in that category. Listen to a couple of episodes if there are, to see what they do well and think of things they could change. Pick a podcast theme or topic

  7. Name your podcast Try to choose something catchy, memorable, and that will rank for the related keywords of your podcast when choosing a podcast name. Use keywords, without stuffing You don’t want to stuff keywords with your title, but you want to make finding your podcast easy for people. If you have a one- or two-word podcast name, add a brief summary to the search results in the title tag.

  8. Even though we do all the prep work right now we recommend holding off on making artwork. Your podcast is in its infancy, and as a result, as you record the first few episodes, the concept of your show will possibly change a little. It’s perfectly okay if that happens. Changing the title of your podcast is simple, but changing your artwork is a real pain, especially if you’ve already paid for it once. We suggest waiting until a few episodes after you record before you produce the official artwork of your show. Don’t create podcast artwork, yet

  9. Some podcasts have only a single host, others are scripted stories, or interviews are in-depth. Choosing a format that suits what your podcast is about and is something you’re comfortable with is important: You’ll need to have a cohost if you enjoy comedy and banter. You could lean towards an audio drama if you like to have everything planned out and scripted Step 2: Choose your podcast format

  10. Do not let people tell you that for a podcast show, there is an ideal duration. You can find shows such as The Regular, 20-30 minutes long, Accidental Tech Podcast, 2 hours per episode on average, and Hardcore History of episodes as long as audiobooks. Your podcast, without being any longer, should be as long as it needs to be. Each podcast will benefit from editing, so it’s easy to take out rambling bits, repetitive questions, and portions of the episode that don’t add much value to the listener. And remember: if you deliver quality, engaging material, people will keep listening with confidence. Optimal podcast length

  11. Podcasting can be a task full time or something on the side that you do. If it is the latter, you may have a publishing schedule that is more comfortable. You may opt to publish every day like the Daily or publish every two years like Serial, a podcast series. We recommend publishing once a week if you have the bandwidth. Podcast publishing schedule

  12. Podcasts have a low entry barrier; it’s reasonably easy to begin the process with little overhead or expertise if you want to start a podcast. With just your iPhone and a pair of headphones, you can start recording a podcast. Know, the most important aspect is your content. As it has superior sound quality, nobody listens to a podcast. But if the show’s material is excellent, people can put up with less-than-optimal sound quality. Step 3: Podcast recording equipment and software

  13. It can get confusing to pick the best podcasting setup, especially if you don’t have an audio recording background. We put together three podcast equipment packages to make it simple, based on the number of people you record. Disclosure: Some of these product links are affiliate links from Amazon, which means that if you decide to buy them, Buzzsprout might earn a small commission. Equipment Required

  14. It’s time to make edits and changes to get the best sound quality possible after you’ve recorded your podcast. Although there are options on your Android or iPhone to edit your podcast, their tiny screens are not suitable for sound editing. The great news is that software for podcast editing is incredibly inexpensive. Podcast software

  15. Editing is where things become actual, and where there are a lot of potential podcasters giving up. When things get technical or just plain difficult, it is easy to get wrapped up in the thought of recording a podcast and easily lose momentum.   Try to remember: it had to start with a few poor episodes, including the best podcasts. Every show, and show host, has to find its place, and by continuing to record new episodes, the best way to improve is. Step 4: Recording your first episode

  16. The editing process is where your podcast is segmented, audible distractions deleted, and pre-recorded commercials, voiceovers, intros, and outros are added. Even the not-so-technically inclined can produce a high-quality, well-edited podcast with the aid of the right tools and a few pointers. It’s a process behind the scenes that needs a little planning but don’t let you be frustrated by the process. Even the not-so-technically inclined can produce a high-quality, well-edited podcast with the aid of the right tools and a few pointers.   Step 5: Editing & uploading your first episode

  17. If you’re new to this, seeing how radio stations are converting their shows into podcasts will make things a little easier. But, remember, Podcasts have gone well beyond radio-in a minute you can find out more about it! First, however, there was a radio show called ‘More or Less: Behind the Numbers’ on BBC Radio 4, all about fascinating economics and numerical facts. The show is on every week at the same time, and you have to turn in to listen to it on your radio. But the BBC publishes every episode as part of the More or Less Podcast’ to make it easier to listen to too.  Example of a Popular Podcast?

  18. Many podcasts today are audio-only, even though there are video podcasts. Podcasting really evolved out of a desire for material from the past. That means something in the context of other dull or rote tasks that can entertain you, teach you, or inspire you. One of the most popular places people listen, for example, is in the car. Of course, you can’t watch videos there, so the audio content is great. Similarly, podcasts are perfect for listening in the gym, when you’re cutting the grass, or on your business trip. Any moment of wasted time can be an audio moment!   That means of course, that you need to listen to something, so you may need to get a pair of headphones to connect to your smartphone. Alternatively, attach through Bluetooth to your car, or start listening to Echo or another smart speaker! Are Podcasts Audio or Video?

  19. You will discover that many of them are quite familiar when you listen to a podcast. Over the years, you’ve heard similar kinds of content, from radio to TV talk shows. On the other hand, thanks to the freedom that podcasting allows, you’ll also hear podcasts that are completely new and completely different from the norm. Many podcasts focus on one specific subject. For every episode, the host or hosts will talk about that topic. Sometimes like triathlon racing or dog training, it’s really specific, and other times it’s more general, like how to lead a happy life. What do Podcasts Usually Sound Like?
