  3. 5 important questions that you should ask before making a final decision about who the obstetrician will be helping you through your pregnancy.

  4. How is your health? You need to decide if your current health situation is going to put you at a higher risk during the pregnancy.   If it does, then you need to choose your obstetrician based off of the help they will provide you to keep you at a lower risk fact.

  5. What is the doctor’s outlook? If you are wanting to have a vaginal birth, find out if the obstetrician is willing to follow your wishes unless serious complications were to come up. Let the doctor know that you have a doula that you will be working with.

  6. Are you compatible? Have a conversation with your doctor to see how open they are going to be to you.  You want to be comfortable with the doctor you choose so try to get a feel for how they are going to treat you on the first meeting.

  7. How available is the doctor going to be to you? This is one of the most important questions to ask. Your obstetrician must be there for you during your delivery.

  8. What type of health guidelines does the doctor have for you? Make sure that the OB that you choose is willing to work with you in finding creative ways to maintain your health as well as the health of your baby while still following the dietary and health guidelines that you have for yourself.
