Title of Project:ERICSSON INTERIM BILLING SYSTEM • Name of Student:AbhimanyuKatoch (Batch of 2016) • IP organisation: • Faculty Mentor:Amit Kumar • Industry Mentor:Brajendra Kumar Mishra • Project Summary: The first objective was to design and develop the PDF of the bill, i.e., how the bill of a postpaid user will look like. After getting the design approved by the board the coding of the PDF was done. Enhancements were added to the new design, better look and feel, code refactoring. The second objective was to design the GUI for the service provider operator where they have all the records for all the functions of the postpaid connection such as connection, disconnection, new SIM application, old SIM reactivation, plan change, CUG modification, etc. The third objective was to work on Android App development for a client of Ericsson which was also done successfully.

  3. 2. Title of Project:COMPARE MUNAFA Android APPLICATION • Name of Student:Aayush Thakur • IP organisation: COMPARE MUNAFA ONLINE PVT. LTD. • Faculty Mentor:AnirbanBhar • Industry Mentor: Harsh Maur • Project Summary: This report provides an analysis of an Android App Development project, completed during the 6 months internship period at Compare Munafa Online Pvt. Ltd. The name of the application is Compare Munafa, which is available on Google Play Store. Methods to complete the project include research on various Android topics online, understanding about Android SDK and java concepts, making sample applications to test the concepts, and finally implementing them in the main project.

  4. Continue (Project 2) The first objective was to design and develop Android app Compare Munafa, after the successful release of the first version we found out many bugs. After fixing them, a bug fix version was released. Subsequently, many versions were released with certain enhancements and features. Enhancements were added to the new design, better look, and feel, performance boost, code refactoring. Features were implemented such as Firebase cloud Messaging, analytics, crash reporting, animations and large device support in the latest release.

Title of Project:Information Security Centre for PwC client • Name of Student:PranavNarain • IP organisation: PwC • Faculty Mentor:AritraSaha • Industry Mentor: Manu Dwivedi • Project Summary: The project involves setting up of a Centre that will deal with the management of cyber security threats to the client’s organisation. This involves designing processes and workflows from scratch for different cyber division sectors working as a unit within the whole setup. The processes and methodologies are being developed entirely by the PwC’s Cyber Security team, while working hand in hand with the client.

(India Software Labs) Pune, India • Faculty Mentor: Mr. TrupilLimbasiya • Industry Mentor: Mr. PrashantMestri, Senior Software Engineer, IBM India Software Labs ‐ Security Systems, Pune, India. • Project Summary: Encryption and key management is an integral part of managing the growth of sensitive data across the enterprise. IBM Security Key Lifecycle Manager provides exceptional client value because it helps reduce encryption management costs related to setup, use and expiration of encryption keys. It enables organisations to address compliance with disclosure laws and regulations, and it helps ensure against loss of information due to key mismanagement. Security Key Lifecycle Manager transparently detects encryption‐capable media to assign necessary authorisation and encryption keys.

Continue (Project 4) Every storage device these days requires ensuring data safety so to secure the data they need to encrypt it and in order to do so they need a key be it a symmetric or asymmetric key. SKLM does is that it follows the Key management interoperability protocol so that it supports all the devices and provides the storage device with a key. The device then uses that key to encrypt the data and maintain security. SKLM has few other features also that include certificate creation and authentication.

Title of Project:Analysis and Understanding of Asynchronous Parallel Gradient Methods along with its applications • Name of Student: AkshitaBhandari • IP organisation:IISc Bangalore • Faculty Mentor:Prosenjit Gupta • Industry Mentor:Chandramani Singh • Project Summary: The work involved analysing and evaluating random online coordinate descent (ROCD) algorithms. Coordinate descent methods exhibit better complexity in scenario with huge number of features. They also demonstrate same order of regret as the full gradient methods. In this work, ROCD algorithms were used for popularity prediction and caching in information centric networking. The theoretical predictions were confirmed using extensive experiments with both synthetic and real data sets.

Title of Project:A Software Defined Radio based Framework for the Co-existence of multiple Heterogeneous Devices in Industrial Internet of Things • Name of Student:ShivamVinayakVatsa • IP organisation: TCS Innovation Labs • Faculty Mentor: Prosenjit Gupta • Industry Mentor: Rajeev Shorey • Project Summary: The Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm has immersed as a key component in diverse areas ranging from Smart Homes, Transportation and Health Care to Supply Chain and Smart Manufacturing. This project proposes a framework based on Software Defined Radio (SDR) and leverages TV white spaces in order to meet the spectrum scarcity and provide non-interfering co-existence of various collocated radio enabled IoT devices. Spectrum sensing is a pre-requisite for dynamic spectrum access. Spectrum sensing is a repetitive process and would consume extra energy from the IoT nodes. It is to be noted that IoT devices are characterised by low power; hence it would inefficient to deploy spectrum sensing at device level. The project has proposed a centralised collaborative spectrum sensing architecture which is efficient in term of power consumption.

QURESHI • IP organisation: IBM India Pvt. Ltd. • Faculty Mentor:SumanSanyal • Industry Mentor: Siddhartha S Roy • Project Summary • To develop and deploy a virtual chat agent web app. This app will aid insurance companies target new customers as well as improve service to existing customers. We aim to make conversation natural and human. • To provide a method for Bacardi US to use social media marketing responsibly. Aim here is to build profiles of two groups - under and over-age users, from their twitter data. By differentiating between these groups, we can proceed to exclude underage users from our marketing campaign. • Oxxo, a Mexican chain of convenience stores wishes to determine the optimal price to sell its products, so as to maximize revenue. Our objective here is to provide interactive, elegant and effortless data visualisation, which could be used by the project leads to explain the modelling results to the client.

Title of Project:SCREENING OF MATRICES FOR LIPASE IMMOBLISATION • Name of Student: K.REVATHI • IP organisation:Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai • Faculty Mentor: Sunil Khanna • Industry Mentor: Dr. JS Melo • Project Objectives: • 1. Optimisation of parameters for binding of Candida rugosa lipase (CRL) enzyme to different cloth matrix. • 2. Physico-chemical and biochemical characterisation of immobilised matrix.

Continue (Project 8) Project Summary: After screening various cloth matrix, we found that even though some matrix like plain cheese cloth had good immobilisation efficiency, the reusability was very poor. Cross linking also did not help in capping the enzyme to prevent desorption. Only, the graphite coated glass cloth matrix was retaining its initial activity even after 10 reuses. Therefore, to improve the immobilisation efficiency, the matrix was pre-treated with tert-butanol to decrease its hydrophobicity which was hindering the binding of CRL There was a threefold increase in enzyme bound to the graphite matrix after pre-treatment. The immobilised matrix retained its initial activity even after 9 reuses when washed with tert-butanol (5%v/v) after each hydrolysis reaction. The optimum pH and temperature of the matrix was determined to 7 and 45°C. The 𝐾𝑚 and Vmax of the immobilised CRL and free CRL was found for four different oils. The 𝐾𝑚 for the olive oil was same for immobilised and free CRL indicating similar affinity for the substrate whereas the 𝐾𝑚 for the sunflower oil was less for the immobilised CRL as compared to the free CRL indicating immobilisation increased the affinity of the enzyme for the substrate. The physic-chemical characterisation gave us an insight into the properties of the matrices like hydrophobicity.
