  1. October 2, 2012 Good Morning! Fireworks Animation

  2. What is an instance? In the first tutorial, we created a falling snow flake and a rising helium balloon. We created this animation by adding animation to an instance.

  3. What did we add to the instance to obtain the illusion of animation?

  4. What did we add to the instance? • Additional states • Rotation • Color changing • Resizing • Opacity (dark to light)

  5. In the second, tutorial we created paw prints walking across a page that morphed into the words Grizzlies. How did we do this?

  6. 1. Added a duplicate state (or frame) 2. Added a glow filter to the text Grizzlies Added the third paw print 3. Added the text Grizzlies 4. Alternated adding additional states with additional paw prints until there were a total of six. 5. Changed the color of the glow 6. Changed the color of the text Grizzlies 7. Changed the timing of the states to slow the animation down and make it run more smoothly. 8. Used the onion skin feature to change the opacity of specific paw prints. 9. • 10. Previewed the completed animation.

  7. Animation through Tweening • Tweening is the process of selecting multiple frames, then inserting transitional frames between them. This effect makes frames appear to blend into one another and gives the animation a more fluid appearance.

  8. Also today…… We will optimize the animation. What does the word optimize mean? HINT: A gas treatment is added to achieve optimal performance in most vehicles.

  9. Why optimize? Optimization is a trade off of sorts. What are two important concerns when viewing an image on the Web? 1. 2.

  10. Why optimize? Optimization is a trade off of sorts. What are two important concerns when viewing an image on the Web? 1. The quality of the image 2. The time it takes to load When you optimize an image you will obtain the best quality for the least amount of upload time.
