  1. JR’s Meeting PlaceWhere You meet the elements of your dreams.

  2. Hi, my name is Fluorine, I was first discovered in 1771 AD by a man named Scheele. I was also latter found by Moissian in 1886 AD when he noted the inclusion in crystals from Quincie.

  3. I am in the Hydrogen group of elements. My neighbor's on the periodic table are Neon and Oxygen. Oxygen and I get along until we mix with other elements. I have a number of 9 and I weigh a whopping 19.00g(atomic mass), with a density of 1.7.

  4. I am a light canary-yellow gas at room temperature. I melt at a point of -219.62 degrees Celsius. When I warm back up as a liquid with a clear yellowish color I start to boil at -188.1 degrees Celsius.

  5. I am a kick-butt element, I am a highly dangerous element, I cause severe chemical burns when I contact human skin so watch out, I’m a Poisonous pale yellow gas!

  6. I react explosively with hydrogen. I also react violently with water forming hydrogen fluoride, and I release oxygen which is highly charged with o-zone. I also react with sulphur, selenium, and tellurium. When I react with those guys I melt and ignite into a gas. I also combine with bromine or iodine forming a colorless liquid.

  7. I, Fluorine am a widely distributed element, but, yet I am not very abundant. Due to my high reactivity I am not found in a natural state.

  8. I can be prepared by electrolysis of fused acid potassium fluoride at 373 deg. K. in a copper vessel using graphite electrodes. The electrolyte, pure and dry acid potassium fluoride is fused in a electrically heated vessel, such as a wide copper V-tube, the electrodes are pure acheson graphite rods insulated in bakelite cement stoppers. Five amperes are needed at 12v use. Then I’m purified by passage through two copper pipes containing dry sodium fluoride.

  9. Thank Everyone for watching the story behind Fluorine. If you want a date call 1-800-PERRIN2 by Jacob A. Rice
