  3. What is WIOA? The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is a federally funded employment and training program. • The program assists customers with: • The WIOA benefits those who are: • Youth (out-of –school ages 16 - 24) • Developing workforce opportunities • Veterans • Accessing training • Managing career choices • Unemployed • Under-Employed • Dislocated Worker – now includes eligible spouses of military members Website: www.scworkspeedee.com

  4. What can the WIOA program offer me? • The program offers: • Employment Assistance • Tuition and Book Payment Assistance • WIN Assessment • National or SLED Background Check • Drug Screenings • Uniforms, Supplies or Tools Website: www.scworkspeedee.com

Resources • Access to the Resource Room which provides: Labor Market Information, Printers, Copiers, Fax Machines • Access to WIN Assessments • Free Typing Test • Job/Career Fairs • Job Search Resources • Access to Workshops/Resume Building • Information About Unemployment Claim Filing Website: www.scworkspeedee.com

  6. Eligibility Process • Individual Assessment Identifies Skills, Knowledge and Abilities • Eligibility • TABE - No minimum score needed • WIOA Enrollment • Career Services • Maintain monthly contact with your Career Specialist Website: www.scworkspeedee.com

Training Services • Types of WIOA Training Include: On-The-Job Training (OJT), Educational Training (GED), Occupational Skills Training • To qualify for training services, you must be determined as needing training to do the following: • Retain current employment, or • Gain new employment Website: www.scworkspeedee.com

Training Services High School Diploma or GED, Win Assessment, National/SLED Background Check, Drug Screen (if required for training program) Requirements for Occupational Skills Training: Training is limited to those occupations which fall within the Target Industry Clusters approved in the PDWDB Five Year Strategic Plan. We also have the ability to assist with transportation and childcare. If you are approved for training, we will need copies of your: Attendance Records Grade Reports Certificate of Completion Website: www.scworkspeedee.com

  9. Training Clusters Training Clusters are occupations that are grouped together into a category (cluster) and approved by the Pee Dee Workforce Development Board for training. The Approved Clusters are: • Healthcare • Hospitality and Tourism • Diversified Manufacturing • Construction Trades • Transportation and Logistics Website: www.scworkspeedee.com
