DPMJET with PYTHIA

This report discusses the progress made in adding LO.DIS to DPMJET, modifying the Q2 suppression factor, and linking Pythia with nuclear PDFs and nuclear fragmentation from DPMJET. It also presents F2 predictions from the QPM model and highlights the need to address particle energy loss and event rejection mechanisms.

  1. DPMJET with PYTHIA Progress and problems

  2. Where we were • No LO DIS process in PHOJET, the Q2 evolution factor doesn’t sound to be right. • Prospective • Add LO DIS to DPMJET • Modify this Q2 suppression factor in dpmjet • Link Pythia with nuclear PDF and combine it with the nuclear fragmentation from dpmjet eic-tf-meeting

  3. What did we do eic-tf-meeting

  4. F2 prediction from QPM model , using CTEQ6.1 and a parameterized fit from hera data for proton x=0.001 It is assumed that there is no bottom or top quark content in the nucleon. Q2=10 Q2=120 eic-tf-meeting

  10. Summary • What we have: • Initial state effect from nuclear PDF input ( shadowing ) • Final state effect from nuclear evaporation ( gamma dexcitation/nuclear fission/fermi break up ) • What we might still need: • Particle energy loss in the nucleus medium • Problems to be figured out: • Some issues in the difference of event fraction need to be solved ( we must figure out how do they come from ) • Event rejection mechanism need to be reconsidered ( double rejection from PYTHIA ) eic-tf-meeting
